Albany-based marine equipment wholesale distributor Lighthouse Marine Equipment Ltd announced its appointment as New Zealand representative for Countrose water-lubricated bearings.
The marine and pump industries around the world have relied on Countrose rubber-lined bearings’ reputation for reliability and performance excellence for over 30 years. Countrose is a division of UK company Tufnol Composites Ltd.
Countrose bearings use a specially compounded synthetic rubber lining, moulded into a strong, precision-engineered outer shell. The lining has shaped grooves, or flutes, giving very low friction and maintaining hydrodynamic lubrication at low speeds and high loads.
The profile of the grooves drives a dynamic film of water between the surfaces as the shaft rotates, producing exceptional anti-vibration and dampening qualities, and reducing wear for a longer working life.
In marine applications, Countrose bearings are used on rudder stocks, propeller shafts and a range of other stern gear applications on vessels of every size.
“Countrose bearings are an excellent fit with our growing mix of marine equipment products,” said Lighthouse CEO Mike Harris. “We are looking forward to offering a range of Countrose bearings to our boat building and aftermarket customers.”
Lighthouse Marine Equipment’s partnership with Countrose bearings is effective immediately
